Family museum is nothing but the collection of antiquities, art & craft, painting and such kinds of objects which is collected by a particular family and they exhibit these objects in their own palace or home which came to known as museum. This kind of museum is quite common in abroad, we find several museum of this kind.
The Arms Family Museum of Local History, (U.S) Olive F. A. Arms planned the home she and her husband Wilford P. Arms would build. A house of comfort, lit up with lamplight, firelight, and friendship, their magnificent Arts & Crafts style residence is preserved a century later as The Arms Family Museum of Local History. The original period rooms are in first floor, experience the Arms' love of handicraft, medieval architecture and design with the natural environment. The ground and the second floor dynamic exhibits that explore the history of all the people who have lived in the Mahoning Valley.

Mandela Family Museum, Soweto (South Africa) Nelson Mandela's humble house in Soweto, now called the Mandela Family Museum The museum, a house comprising four inter-leading rooms, contains a rather higgledy-piggledy assortment of memorabilia, paintings and photographs of the Mandela family as well as a collection of honorary doctorates bestowed on Nelson Mandela from universities and institutions around the world. Former South African President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and his family lived here from 1946 into the 1990’s He donated the house to the Soweto Heritage Trust on 1 September 1997, to be used for the above purposes. The Mandela House strives to be a world-class visitor attraction, and a leading centre for the preservation, presentation, and research of the history, heritage and legacy of the great Mandela Family.
The Samoilov Family Museum (Russia) Samoilov Family Museum was opened in St.Petersburg on 1994. The museum is a tribute to His Majesty Actor whose private life is closely connected with his creative work. Two of the halls are fully devoted to the history of the Samoilov family. Here there are portraits of the three generations of the dynasty, their personal belongings, furniture, and paintings. , The history of the Imperial Theatres in St.Petersburg of the 19 - early 20th cc.
